However, we soon realized that the rising Gas costs on the Ethereum network were rapidly pricing out all but the biggest whales from participating in even the simplest DeFi transactions. The crypto world can often feel all-encompassing, yet only an estimated 0.01% of people in the world currently participate in DeFi — and the barriers to entry are only growing taller.

Enter Solana, a new Proof of History blockchain that promised and delivered on ultra-low transaction costs and throughput of up to 710k per second. We are fully expecting Solana to be the bridge to bring the next 1 Billion users into DeFi. However, there is a lot of work that is yet to be done to build that bridge.

That’s where Laguna Protocol steps in to fill in the gaps in the Solana ecosystem.

Laguna is building the first Yield aggregator and optimizer in the Solana ecosystem. We are creating opportunities for users to maximize their yield through automated yield vaults. We’ll also be saving users countless hours a day of harvesting, swapping, and re-staking farmed rewards to turbocharge APYs across the ecosystem.
